William “Bill” Chris Ketron passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 1, 2013. He was born November 21, 1946 in Vallejo, California to Chester and Ruby (Christensen) Ketron. Bill grew up in Billings and attended Billings Fratt Memorial, Lincoln Jr. High School and Billings West High School and Eastern Montana College. As a young boy he enjoyed playing baseball and football. Bill worked at Bob’s IGA Grocery store from 1965 until 1967. He then served our country as a member of the United States Army starting in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1969. He then resumed working at the IGA store in several management positions and store manager, until 1977. Shortly after he worked at City Cab as their transportation manager until his until retirement in 2004. Bill’s greatest passion in life was his guitar music; he started playing as a child and continued until he could not physically play any longer. He shared his gift of music with family and friends. He played in several bands with his good friend Woody Cowart. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Chester. He is survived by: his mother Ruby Ketron of Billings; son Tim Ketron of Missoula; daughter Kristy (Jamie) Hodik of Lewistown; daughter Misty (Craig) Kriskovich of Hobson; sister Vicky (Jim) Ingersoll of Belgrade; five grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; niece Michelle Paluck and nephew Eddy Ingersoll. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Billings. Interment will follow the funeral service at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Billings.
