Warren 'Murphy' Burgund

Warren Lawrence Burgund,'Murphy',74,of Belgrade,Montana passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015. He was born October 28, 1940 in Staten Island, New York to Amelia (Jantz) and Warren Lawrence Burgund Sr. He was born and raised in Staten Island, New York He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1958 and served our country for over 21 years, being honorably discharged in 1978. He married Barbara; they had 2 children Warren and James; the couple later divorced. He married Rita, they had 3 children; Patrick, Sean, and Mary, and they later divorced. He married Tina, his last wife, they had a daughter Amelia, he raised Tara his step-daughter as his own, and they also divorced. During his life there were few places Murphy didn't live. Murphy enjoyed wood working and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was an avid gun enthusiast and loved the outdoors, especially bonfires. He always helped family, friends and strangers. As an organ donor he gave back to 50 people. He was an amazing man. He will be missed tremendously by so many people. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Sean; daughter Tara; ex wives Rita and Tina. Survivors include his siblings June and Wallace; children Warren, James, Patrick, Mary and Amelia; many grandchildren, and even a few great grandchildren. Military honors will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday,April 22,2015 at Sunset Hills Cemetery in front of the Vietnam Wall. Family and friends please meet at Dahl Funeral Chapel at 1:45 pm to process together to the cemetery. “That was what the girl at the picnic said”, was Murphy’s favorite saying.
