W. Glenn Vogel

W. Glenn Vogel, 86, of Bozeman passed away on August 4, 2009. Glenn was born on November 14, 1922 to David and Bessie Helen (McAllister) Vogel. His ancestors settled in Bozeman in the 1800s and Glenn was born and raised in Bozeman. He graduated from Gallatin High and then served in the Army during WWII in Europe. After the war, he married Okarche Colbern on June 10, 1950. In Bozeman Glenn worked at Montana Motor Supply and attended Montana State University. He moved to California where he worked with tracking radar at Point Mugu Air Station and Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii. He moved back to Bozeman with his family in 1969. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Vogel, Jr.; and one sister, Helen Post. Survivors include his wife, Okarche of 59 years; daughter Kathy Vogel of Kissimmee, FL; daughter and son-in-law Linda Carol and Kevin Nell; three grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, and Taryn Nell, all of Parker, CO; sister, June Stevens of Lexington, KY; and many nieces and nephews. Private family services will be held.
