Vera Denison

On Thursday, August 1, 2024, Vera Chandler Denison’s life journey came to an end. She was born September 16, 1934, in Bozeman, Montana to Arthur and Vivian Orr Chandler. She joined her older sister, Louise, completing their family.

She grew up in Bozeman, attending Irving, Hawthorn, Emerson and Gallatin County High Schools, graduating in 1952. The following year, she married C.E. (Denny) Denison and they raised their three sons, Stacy, Wade and Clark in Bozeman.

She worked at Kessler Dairy for many years and enjoyed camping and boating at Canyon Ferry Lake. They had a place at Goose Bay on the lake where they loved spending time boating, fishing, telling great stories and sharing much laughter with their friends and family! Oh…and catching fish!

Vera was an avid bowler in Bozeman, then in Townsend, MT, where they had moved in 1995 to be closer to the lake. When the Townsend bowling alley closed, she and her team drove to Helena weekly to bowl.

She was an award-winning knitter and crocheter, making beautiful afghans, sweaters, large doilies and other items. Those lucky enough to have one will cherish it for years to come.

She is preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law.

Vera was a kind, funny, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Denny Denison, sons Stacy Denison (Spokane, WA), Wade (Toni) Denison (Suwanee, GA) and Clark Denison (Bozeman, MT), sister Louise Bradford, and grandchildren Adam (Kalia) Denison, Luke (Miranda) Denison, Sarah (Gary) Knolla, Kelsey (Matt) Hoff, Thomas Denison and step-granddaughter Stella Bridges.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
