Tanner Scott Moe

November 23, 1979 — November 4, 2017

A kind, gentle, generous spirit left us on Nov 4, 2017, when Tanner Scott Moe lost his life in an auto accident due to wintery road conditions on the Townsend Highway. Tanner was born on Nov 23, 1979, to parents Tyrone Moe and Tamara Marchwick Moe in Wolf Point, MT. Tanner spent childhood years in Wolf Point, Great Falls, and Bozeman before the family moved to Beaverton, Oregon where Tanner completed his school years. Tanner was a naturally gifted athlete from a young age and loved playing all sports, especially baseball. Upon his return to Montana, he chose to delay his college education and worked in Billings and Bozeman in the restaurant industry, serving as a manager in several establishments. Upon reaching his 30’s, Tanner decided to give higher education a chance. It was a very proud day for both Tanner and his family in May 2013 when, after only two and a half years of study, Tanner earned a bachelor’s degree with highest honors in Sociology from Montana State University Bozeman. Within another couple of years, he had completed a Master’s degree in Family Financial Planning, also at MSU-Bozeman.

An immensely likable and intelligent young man with a keen wit, perpetual smile, and blue eyes with a special sparkle, Tanner quickly formed close relationships with many new friends in any community in which he lived. He will be greatly missed by all those friends and especially by his family. He leaves behind, far earlier than we could ever have imagined: mother Tamara Moe of Bozeman, father Ty Moe of Billings, brother Nathan Moe and his wife, Sarah of Clackamas, Oregon, half-brother Pacer and his wife, Amy of Billings, half-sister Tia of Billings, and their young children; grandfather Curley Marchwick of East Helena, grandparents Arvid and Ardine Moe of Billings, uncles and aunts Terry Marchwick of Mission Viejo, California, Tom Marchwick of Belgrade, Toni Marchwick of Roseburg, OR, Teresa Neubauer of Wolf Point, Tracy Moe of Sacramento, CA, Jeri Grendahl of Billings, and Kelly Moe of Twisp, WA. Tanner was preceded in death by grandmother Grace Marchwick.

No services will be held; memorials may be made to Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice.
