Sylvia (Medenwaldt) Miller, 67, of Bozeman, Montana passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Sylvia was born August 4, 1942 in Hankinson, ND to Norman and Winifred Medenwaldt. The second oldest of 12, she grew up on a family farm near Fox Home, Minnesota, graduating from Campbell High School in 1960. She met and married Marvin Miller, and with him, had two beautiful children, Marvin and Dawn. The family moved to Manhattan, Montana in 1973, and after their divorce in 1974, Sylvia resided in various homes in the Gallatin Valley before settling in Bozeman in 1986. She had worked at the Bozeman Senior Center as well as Bairs before becoming a WalMart greeter for the last ten years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, old cars, collecting, and birdwatching. She also loved hot air balloons. Her smiling face and infectious laughter will be greatly missed. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, David Medenwaldt, and her infant brother, Charles Medenwaldt. Survivors include her children, Marvin Miller Jr. of Great Falls, MT and Dawn Miller of Bozeman; seven brothers, Norman (Bev) Medenwaldt Jr. of Moses Lake, WA, Harvey (Bev) Medenwaldt of Breckenridge, MN, Douglas (Kathy) Medenwaldt of Zimmerman, MN, Gerald (Maxine) Medenwaldt of Wahpeton, ND, Morris (Judy) Medenwaldt of Lidgerwood, ND, Lonny (Donna) Medenwaldt of Lidgerwood, ND, and Gary Medenwaldt of Fergus Falls, MN; three sisters, Virgil Kvaal of Colorado Springs, CO, Ranae (Andrew) Gaukler of Lidgerwood, ND, and Janell (Perry) Baumberger of Arlington, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Dahl Funeral Chapel.
