Susan Marie Hill

Susan Marie Hill, 61, of New York City and Manhattan, Montana passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 18, 2010. She was born June 21, 1948 in Bozeman, Montana to Richard Seely Hill and Virginia (Baker) Hill. Susan was raised in Bozeman and graduated from Bozeman Senior High School in 1966, then from Montana State University in 1970 with a degree in Sociology. After college graduation Susan lived in Denver, Miami, Los Angeles, Aspen and San Francisco, finally settling in New York City where she lived for over 30 years. In her youth she worked as a fashion model and then as a realtor in more recent years. Susan spent much time in back in the Gallatin Valley Caring for her mother Virginia before her mother#8217;s death in 2007. While back in the Gallatin Valley she reacquainted herself with a high school friend Gary Bates, who has been her constant companion since. Susan loved great food, dining in fine restaurants with friends, travel, tennis, skiing, hiking, reading, shopping and banana milkshakes. Susan had a special fondness for dogs, especially Muffin and Nicki. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality, her sense of humor and her wonderful laugh. Susan was stunningly beautiful inside and out. Susan was preceded in death by her father Richard Seely Hill; her step-father Eldon Dahl, her step-sister Patsy Matzinger and her mother Virgina Dahl. Survivors include her devoted friend Gary Bates of Manhattan, Montana; her sister Dr. Patricia Hill and husband Nasser Sadeghi of Aspen, CO; her niece Sabrina Sadeghi Millecamps and husband Sebastien Millecamps of Paris, France; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and a large extended family. A funeral service to celebrate Susan's life will be held 1:30 PM Tuesday, May 25th, 2010 at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Bozeman, Montana, followed by interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
