Stacey Asher, 41, died Sept. 23, 2015, at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital after a long battle with acute liver disease. Born June 22, 1974, in Helena, MT, and raised in Colstrip, Montana, she was a true, free-spirited Mountain Girl who loved the outdoors.
Stacey graduated from Colstrip High School in 1991, having been a member of the State A Champion Girl’s Volleyball Team. In 1993, she graduated from the Acme Beauty College, Billings, MT, and began her career in Cosmetology. She married Patrick Pacheco in Billings in 1995 and then moved to Livingston, MT. They had one son, Austin Patrick, born December 22, 1997, then divorced in 1998. Stacey then moved to Belgrade, MT in 1998 and opened and operated the “Above the Rest Salon” in Big Sky, MT. In 2000, she married Jesse Asher and moved to Bozeman, MT. They had one daughter, Clare Olivia, born November 29, 2004. She maintained the “Above the Rest Salon” until her health failed in 2013. She and Jesse divorced in 2013.
Stacey found joy in hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling …anything in the outdoors. She dearly loved her two children, even when her failing health limited her parenting.
Stacey is survived by so many who loved her dearly. Family members who survive her are her son, Austin Pacheco of Big Fork, MT; her daughter, Clare Asher of Missoula, MT; her mother and father, Wendy and Dan Negethon of Colstrip, MT; her brother Chris (Michelle) Negethon of Colstrip, MT; her brother Matt (Stacie) Negethon of Forsyth, MT; her grandmother, Geri Perkins of Council Bluffs, IA; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Her early departure leaves a hole in hearts of her friends and family.
A service to celebrate Stacey’s life will be held at First Lutheran Church, 225 South Black, Bozeman, MT, at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall. Cremation services under the direction of Dahl Funeral and Cremation, Bozeman, MT. Interment will follow at a later date with a family and friends graveside service at the Colstrip Cemetery.
Memorial donations are suggested by the family to Montana Peer Network, 109 East Lewis Street, Livingston, MT 59047; and/or Bozeman Deaconess Health Foundation, 931 Highland Blvd., Suite 3200, Bozeman, Montana 59715, to help others in need.
