Sharyl Joy Miller

Sharyl Joy (Johnson) Miller, 59, of Clarkston passed away Monday (October 22, 2012) at her home. She was born May 3, 1953 in Benson, Minnesota to Harvey and Corrine (Lesteberg) Johnson. She was raised and educated in Kerkhoven and Richfield MN and graduated from Minnehaha Academy Minneapolis MN. In 1974 she earned a BS-Education from St. Cloud State College MN. In 1975 she married the love of her life Daniel Bruce Miller (Birchwood WI), after two chance meetings, they were engaged. They were married on May 17, 1975 in Richfield, MN at the Bethany Covenant Church. They settled in Birchwood WI. Together they worked hard and raised four children. In Wisconsin Sharyl was a substitute teacher and volleyball coach at Birchwood Schools for 20 years. She worked next to her husband on their dairy farm. In 1995 they moved the family to Montana, and settled in Bozeman, until built a home in Clarkston in 2005. Sharyl worked at Smiths Food and Drug for almost 15 years. Sharyl is remembered for being a great wife, mother and grandmother. She maintained a positive selfless spirit, no matter how difficult times were for her family. She was steadfast for her family, no matter what. Sharyl enjoyed relaxing by doing needle point, gardening and reading. She loved cooking, canning and baking (especially Christmas cookies). She was a great starter, but not all projects were completed. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and creatively scoring her family’s favorite game of “May-I”. She was preceded in death by father, Harvey Johnson, and parents in-law Ed and Mildred Miller. Survivors include husband Dan of Clarkston; mother Corrine Johnson of Minneapolis; Children: Melissa Olmstead of Clarkston, Travis Miller (Rana) of Ridgefield WA, Rebecca Meyer (Patrick) of Red Springs NC, Cody Miller (Megan) Bozeman; Grand-children: Saige, Wyatt, Taylor; Siblings: Galen Johnson (Jill) MN, Mari Lunas (Chuck) WI, Barb Parenteau (Bill) WI. A memorial to remember and celebrate Sharyl’s life will be held 10 am, Saturday, October 27 at Three Forks Church of Christ.
