Sharlene Marie Vick, 86, of Belgrade, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Highgate Senior Living in Bozeman. She was born March 7, 1939, in Mitchell, South Dakota to Bertis Theron and Hazel (Miller) Savage. Early years were spent in South Dakota and McPherson, Kansas before moving to Aurora, Colorado in Junior High School. Sharlene married Donald James Vick on March 29, 1958, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Denver, Colorado, a few months prior to graduating from Aurora High School. They remained in Denver for the next 53 years before moving to Belgrade, Montana in 2011. Following high school, she worked for J.C. Penney and Consolidated Freightways, and in the 1970’s became interested in international adoption and assisting refugee families immigrating to the U.S. towards the end of the Vietnam War. She also worked as an adoption case worker for many years at FCVN and Adoption Alliance before retiring in 2008. Sharlene was an avid reader and book lover, enjoyed collecting dolls, teddy bears, figurines, and was a lifelong pet lover, always surrounded by her fur babies. She was preceded in death by her parents Bertis and Hazel, sister Sharroll Yetter, and husband Donald. Survivors include son Jeffrey H. (Jacquelyn Campeau) Vick of Bozeman, MT; two daughters: Stacy (Stephen Bolan) Teasdale of Lakewood, CO, and Sarah (Tou) Vang of Topeka, KS; six grandchildren: Teresa Vick, Ashley Teasdale, Aidan and Anson Bolan, Nickalas and David Vang. Cremation has taken place, with an internment at Sunset Hills later this spring. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held in Bozeman this summer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Humane Colorado, 2080 S Quebec St, Denver, CO 80231. The family would also like to thank everyone at Highgate Memory Care and Enhabit Hospice for the care she received the last months of her life.
