Seth Gregory Simmons, 33, of Bozeman, died doing what he loved, floating the Gallatin on August 10, 2011. He was born March 30, 1978 to Elaine and Greg Simmons in Oakridge Tennessee. His family moved back to Bozeman two weeks after his birth, making him a native Montanan. He attended Emerson Elementary School and Chief Joseph Middle School and was a graduate of Reed Point High School. He spent a year at Montana State University where he studied art. In 1999 he moved to Seattle where he met and fell in love with Brianna (Bri) on a boating date on Lake Union. Seth moved back to Montana in 2001 and was joined eight months later by Bri. They married on September 24, 2005 at the Emerson Cultural Center in Bozeman. They were blessed with the birth of their daughters, Alana on June 18, 2006 and Sofia on January 23, 2009, Seth worked with his brother as a painter and various construction jobs in Bozeman until starting his own business, Simmons Painting. His life#8217;s passion was spending time with his family; he adored his daughters and called them his little angels. There was never any doubt of his love. Whenever he left the house he gave Bri and the girls a kiss and told them that he loved them, even if he was just running to the store. At their wedding Seth didn#8217;t plan on having a Best Man since Bri was his best friend as well as his love. Seth was an active and dedicated servant of Jehovah. He loved taking his girls fishing on the Madison and Jefferson Rivers, Hyalite Reservoir and soaking in the local hot springs. He was an excellent skier and skied mostly at Bridger Bowl. He loved playing games and hanging out with his family and friends. He loved music and had an eclectic taste in music. He loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. He had literally hundreds of friends. Seth was preceded in death by his grandparents, his Auntie Claire, Uncle Junior and his father-in-law Michael Ottesen. He is survived by his wife Brianna and daughters, Alana, and Sofia of Bozeman, Montana; his parents Greg and Elaine Simmons of Bozeman; brother Aaron (Cindy) Simmons and Aaron and Kyle all of Wallingford, Connecticut; sister Carie Ann (Fred) Jean and Jordan and Trevor, all of Hickory, North Carolina, Stephanie (Michael) Bryant and Wesley of Westland Michigan and sister; Amanda Simmons and Ahmeah, Titus, and Amarian of Little Rock, AR; mother-in-law; Mary Ottesen, brother-in-law; Travis Ottesen and father-in-law Larry (Shelly) Parfitt, all of Seattle, Washington.
