Ruth Lessley

Ruth Lessley, 83, of Bozeman passed away on July 4, 2015. Ruth was born on December 7, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Hyrum and Ethel Hendrickson. She was raised in Salt Lake City and it was there that she met and later married her husband, Sherman Lessley, on August 29, 1953.

In addition to raising children, Ruth worked at the MSU photo lab as a darkroom technician, she was an aid in surgery at the hospital, and she performed data entry at both Life of Montana and Intercity Radiology.

Ruth enjoyed sewing, cooking, time with family, and also playing soft ball.

Besides their seven children, Ruth and Sherman were blessed with 23 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Ruth will be remembered most as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sherman, and two grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Barb (Jim) Jones, Mickey (Wendy) Lessley, Jay Blair, Tom (Diane) Lessley, and Terry Lessley, all from Bozeman, and Jim (Cindy) Lessley of Texas, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Per Ruth’s wishes, no services will be held.

Memorials may be made to Bozeman Deaconess Cancer Center, Bozeman Deaconess Hospice, and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
