Royal Hosfield

United States Marine Corps #8211; No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy Royal T. Hosfield, 31, of Gallatin Gateway, Montana passed away Friday, February 4, 2011. Royal was born on November 8, 1979 to Robert and Lisa Hosfield in Bozeman, Montana. In 1998, he joined the US Marine Corps at the age of 18 and completed two tours in Kuwait. He was Honorably Discharged from the Marines in 2004, at which time he served two years as security overseas. In 2006, Royal joined the National Guard, completing his service in March 2010. He thoroughly loved the outdoors, where he enjoyed flyfishing and bird hunting with his black lab, Abbie. He will be remembered as a loyal friend. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Robert and Tammy Hosfield of Wilsall, MT; his mother and stepfather, Lisa and James Colsell of Julian, CA; four sisters, Tina (Chuck) Hansen of Deer Lodge, MT, Mindy Brelsford of Bozeman, Joann (Ryan) Knowles of Layton, UT, and Heather Brelsford of Bozeman; grandfather, Jack Hosfield of Bismarck, ND; grandmother, Ingeborg Lochrie of Orange, CA; nieces, Taylor (10) and Alyssa (4); nephews, Conner (7), Johnathen (5), and Tanner (4); cousins, Jasmine (Brock) and Makayla; his fiancee, Kara Pletan; and his best friend in the world, Abbie, his black lab. Royal was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edgar W. Lochrie, grandmother, Mandy Hosfield, and cousin, Jennifer Hunter. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Dahl Funeral Chapel with military honors. A reception will follow.
