Ron Batters 51, of Bozeman, passed away Thursday August 28, 2008 in Billings. He was born March 29, 1957 in San Antonio Texas to Jim and Peg (Todd) Batters. He had moved to Spokane in the early 70#8217;s and gradated from high school in 1975. Following his graduation he moved to Bozeman, MT to learn the trade and work for his grandfather, Joe Johnson of Gallatin Radiator Service, Inc. Ron went on to acquire Gallatin Radiator Service Inc. and was a third generation owner in the family business. His business slogan: #8220;Best Place to Take a Leak Since 1960#8221; was well known in the Gallatin Valley. Ron retired in 2002 after 27 years in business. Ron was a master tech in radiators. His expertise at repairing radiators was highly sought after, whether it be for an antique Model T or a D10 Cat, Ron could fix them all! On August 30, 1997 he married the love of his life Melissa Rolf at their family home in Bozeman. Ron was an honorary member of the Yellowstone Bros. He loved to surf as a young man, and had a great appreciation for fine automobiles new and old. Ron enjoyed softball and played shortstop for many years, but he was a hockey fanatic at heart. Ron took great pride in being the Zamboni driver for BAHA so much that he parked his motor home next to the ice rink every winter so he could take part in every one of his boys#8217; games, as he was their biggest fan. His family gave him the greatest joy and Ron#8217;s sons Dusty and Jordan were the light of his life. He always considered being a dad his greatest accomplishment. His beloved and beautiful daughter Ashley Vivian Batters preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Melissa Batters; two sons Dusty and Jordan Batters and their mother Teri Batters all of Bozeman; mother Peg (Dave) Cobb of Cottonwood, AZ; father Jim (Patty) Batters of Spokane, WA; sister Tina Whittington of Boise, ID; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-law and extended family.
