Robert Sordi

Robert Sordi, 83, of Bozeman passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 at Livingston Memorial Hospital. He was born April 28, 1928 in Aberdeen, SD to John and Caroline (Buckenberg) Sordi. Bob was raised and educated in Aberdeen. Following his graduation from high school, Bob served our country in the Army serving in Japan, just after WWII. When he was honorably discharged he returned to South Dakota and attended Northern States Teachers College. He married Lucille Braun on November 22, 1955. Following their marriage they lived in Snoqualmie, WA, and Missoula, MT before moving to Bozeman in 1959. Together they had three daughters, Dorine, Susan, and Cyndi. The couple later divorced. In Bozeman Bob worked for the Bozeman Chronicle as a typesetter for over 30 years until his retirement in 1981. In his earlier years Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, hiking and camping. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ruth, and his grandson Michael. Survivors include his daughters Dorine Sordi of Bozeman, Susan Sordi of Albuquerque, NM, and Cyndi (Michael) White of Colorado Springs, CO; his sister Dorine (James) DeFrancisco of Florida; mother of his children Lucille Mohr; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his very close, longtime friend Janet Norris.
