Robert Maxwell Cover

Robert Maxwell Cover, 66, passed away peacefully in Bozeman, on Sunday May 21, 2017. He was born to Maxine Zimmerman Cover and Leon Cover in Helena on November 25, 1950 and graduated from Billings West High School in 1969.



Known to those who knew him as Bob, he was a loving husband, dad, and grandfather. He was married to his wonderful and loving wife Cindy for 38 years, and raised three children. He is survived by his wife Cindy, sons Leon and Max, his daughter Mary, and grandchildren Max, Chloe, Hannah, Adam and Clara (due September 30, 2017).



Earlier in his life, Bob served our nation honorably in Vietnam from 1971-1972 as a US Army helicopter medic. When he returned home from Vietnam, he completed his service through 1974 as a Military Assistance to Safety and Traffic (MAST) flight medic at Fort Lewis, WA. From 1975-1977 he served in Germany as an Army civilian instructor teaching medical courses. He attended some college for art and had a passion for photography. It was while pursuing his passion in Heidelberg, Germany that he met his wife and love of his life Cindy who he loved to photograph. He has spent the remainder of his time serving in the sales industry in Montana.



Bob was first and foremost a wonderful dad and provider. He loved coaching sports with his kids throughout the years, and never missed an opportunity to take full advantage of the outdoors that Gallatin Valley has to offer. His true talent was being able to make life-long friends in less than five minutes, and always had a way to put a smile on your face. Through his family and friend ships he became known as “Grandpa Bob”, “Grill Man”, and “Lawn Man”. Bob was a gift to the people who knew him, and he will be missed dearly.



To a great dad, husband, and grandfather ... you are our hero and will always be with us in our hearts- rest in peace.



A Rosary Service for Bob will be held 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30th at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Belgrade, MT. A Funeral Mass will be conducted 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31st also at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. A Graveside Committal Service is to follow the Funeral Mass followed by a Celebration of Life hosted at the Elks Club.
