Robert Kenneth Fallang, (Bob) age 70, of Bozeman, MT passed away October 22nd, 2017 in the presence of his loving family after a long battle with heart and kidney disease. Bob was born on September 18th, 1947 in Townsend, MT to parents Kenneth and Alice Fallang. Raised alongside his two older brothers, the family lived in White Sulphur Springs where Bob attended school, graduating in 1965. Following his graduation, Bob enrolled at Montana State University. He specialized in OJT Bridge, Road, and Dam design. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army, honorably serving his country from 1967-1970. He served in the Vietnam War from 1968-1969 with the 7th Squadron 1st Cavalry as a helicopter mechanic. He later began his career with the U.S. Forest Service, retiring in in 2002. Following his retirement, Bob worked with Johnson-Wilson Constructors for his nephew, Dean Johnson.
In 1973, Robert met his future wife Shelly at MSU following his hitch in the Army and the two were married on July 5, 1974 in Froid, Mt. Probably, many thought it wouldn’t last, because Bob and Shelly were total opposites. Together, they raised two children; Shelly and Ramy. Bob enjoyed wood working and making parts and pieces at home on his computerized metal lathe. Bob was extremely intelligent and his wife relied greatly on his knowledge of History and Geography especially during “Jeopardy”. He will be mostly remembered by, always lending a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Alice (Muller), as well as his brothers Don and Dale. He is survived by his wife, of 43 years, Shelly of Bozeman, MT; daughter Shelly Ewan (Greg Schmitt) of Spring, TX; son Ramy (Kasey) Fallang of Three Forks, MT; as well as four Granddaughters, AnnaLyssa Ranae (Squeak), Hadley Alice (Squawk), Cooper Kathryn (Squeal), and Oakley Jo (Squall).
A Memorial Service for Bob will be held December 9th, 2017 in White Sulphur Springs, MT, at Mayn Cemetery, with Military Honors at 1pm. Following interment, there will be a Celebration of Life at Montana Roadhouse in White Sulphur Springs
