Robert Joseph Monforton, 53, of Bozeman passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011. Bob was born on January 2, 1958 in Selina, California to Robert and Georgia (Wheat) Monforton. He attended Montana State University, majoring in Geology and minoring in Archaeology. He later worked as an Agricultural Broker. He married Ann Stalcup on September 3, 1988 in Ennis, Montana. They had two daughters, Emily and Alena. Bob loved the outdoors, particularly fishing, hunting, and geology. He enjoyed traveling as well. Above all, he loved his family. Everyone that knew him appreciated his wonderful sense of humor and smile that could light up the room. Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Nan Monforton and Joseph and Thelma Wheat. Survivors include his daughters, Emily (Caleb) Salsbury and Ali Monforton, spouse Ann Monforton, all of Belgrade; parents, Robert and Georgia Monforton of Bozeman; and siblings, Michael E. Monforton of Bozeman, Douglas S. Monforton of Catoosa, OK, Tina M. Brown of Rathdrum, ID, David J. Monforton of Bozeman, and Bruce W. Monforton of Belgrade. Cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held. Memorials in Bob#8217;s name may be made to Robert Monforton's Benefit Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank, 1400 N. 19th Ave, Ste. A, Bozeman, MT 59718 and the proceeds will be donated in his name to University of Washington Children's Burn Center at Harborview.
