Robert E. Thompson passed away Friday evening, February 14, 2014 in Bozeman. He was born on October 17, 1923 to Virginia Walker Thompson and Herbert Thompson. Raised during the depression, Bob worked a variety of jobs before he found his true calling as a carpenter. He graduated from Chicago Technical Institute and became a master journeyman carpenter specializing in finishing work. Bob met his wife Nancy Goforth McCormick square dancing and they married in 1963. Bob was preceded in death by: his wife; mother; sister and brother-in-law Elvira and Leonard Rice; sister Margaret Sterrett; brother-in-law Jack Sterrett; and nephew Thomas Rice. He is survived by: his daughter Diane Thompson of Bozeman; step children Linda Altunova of Bozeman and Don McCormick of Spokane; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on March 8, 2014 at Dahl Funeral Chapel.
