It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Robert “Bobby” Preston Wilson, Jr., 52, of Salt Lake City, UT, who passed away Monday, January 31, 2023, due to an unexpected death.
Robert was born on January 11, 1971, in Salt Lake City, UT to Robert P. & Helen Wilson. He received his education in Salt Lake City where he attended West High School, Class of 1989.
Robert was a hard worker; he was a Line Driver for several trucking outfits, his longest of 25 years at Conway Freight, and he was currently employed at PAK Trucking.
In his youth he enjoyed playing baseball, was a member of the Rose Park Cal Ripken League and grew up playing little league football for West. His passion for sports continued throughout his life, and you could always find him cheering on his favorite sports teams - the Utah Utes, Denver Broncos, and the Red Sox.
Robert was also an avid lover of the outdoors and enjoyed spending his time camping, hunting, and fishing.
Among his many passions, he also dedicated most of his life to riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Robert had a way of making all who knew him laugh. He had so many friends, was a brother to all, and a true giver; he would help anyone in need. He also loved spending time with his family, friends and his dogs Harley, Glider, and Scooby.
He will forever be in our hearts.

Robert is preceded in death by his father Robert P. Wilson, Sr., his mother Helen Wilson and brother Timothy Talbot. He is survived by his brother Tom Sandoval, sister Patricia (Demecio) Vigil, ex-wife Leann Wilson, nieces Shauntell Johnson-Mendoza (Joel), Amanda Talbot, Danielle (Chanel) Vigil, fiancé Rose Alvarado, nephews Devin Vigil (Fatima), Bryce Walkenhorst, great nephews Joseph Johnson and Lucious Olmedo, great nieces Arielle Olmedo, Mariah Herrera, Lilly Munoz Vigil, God son Damian Lozano, and many other relatives and friends.
A Mass Celebration will be held at 12:30PM, Friday, February 17th, at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT, with Father Martin Diaz. There will be a luncheon at the Church afterwards with a reception to follow at the American Legion Post 71, 3419 South West Temple, from 5:00-10:00PM.
