Nicholas K. 'Nick' Uzenski, 21 of Bozeman, MT, died while serving our country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps in Afghanistan. He was born December 30, 1988 in Sidney, NY to William 'Bill' and Lisa Uzenski. He graduated from Franklin Central High School in Franklin, NY. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps on January 14, 2008 and went to boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina. After Boot Camp he attended the School of Infantry at Camp Pendleton, California. He then attended the Basic Reconnaissance course obtaining the military occupational specialty of Reconnaissance Man. In January 2009 he joined Third Recon Battalion, Third Marine Division, Camp Schwab, Okinawa. He deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in November 2009. He was promoted to his current rank of Corporal on October 1st 2009. Nick loved his family and spending time with them, he loved the great outdoors and hiking, in addition he was an avid Yankees Fan. Nick loved to eat, especially Rebakah's cookies. Nick was also fond of this quote, Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference. Nick is survived by his mother Lisa Uzenski, his father William and stepmother Rebakah Uzenski, his sisters, Kaitlin and Cassidy; stepsister, Faith; and his three younger brothers, Zebadiah, Zechariah, and Jathniel; his great-grandma Brundege, with whom he shared a special bond and especially enjoyed their joint fondness of the New York Yankees; his grandparents James and Audrey Archibald, his grandfather Alan (and Heidi) Jordan among others. Visitation will be held Thursday, Jaunary 21, from 5 to 7 pm at Dahl Funeral Chapel. The funeral Service will be held Friday, January 22, 9:00 am at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow with military rites at Sunset Hills Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers memorials may be made in his name to the Nicholas K.
