Neroli Duffy was born June 30, 1954, the eldest daughter of Ernest and Marie Norman. She grew up in Perth, Western Australia, where she developed a love of the ocean and the beach. She graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Western Australia in 1979, also earning a Bachelor of Medical Science. She practiced medicine and anesthesia in Australia and England from 1979 to 1989.
In 1984 and 1985 Neroli attended Summit University in Malibu, California, and her life completely changed direction, dedicating herself to spirituality and healing. In 1989 she traveled to Montana, where she joined the staff of Church Universal and Triumphant. She was ordained as a minister in 1990. Neroli married Peter Duffy, the love of her life and a fellow Australian, in 1989.
For more than thirty years, Neroli served her church in many different roles, including president, vice president, and as a member of the church’s Board of Directors, Council of Elders and Ministerial Council. Her great loves were writing and teaching, and she travelled the world to present seminars on spirituality.
Neroli was a cancer fighter, first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999, with recurrences in 2007 and most recently in 2012. Through all those 18 years she continued teaching, writing, travel and ministry. She also served as a volunteer mediator and board member with the Community Mediation Center in Bozeman.
She is survived by her husband Peter, her mother Marie, her brothers Paul and Mark, and her sister Margo.
