Neal Ross, 96, of Bozeman, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018. Neal grew up on the family farm in Belgrade, raised by his parents Ed and Olive (Bumgarner) Ross.
He graduated from Gallatin County High School and later served in the United States Army during WWII in the European Theatre.
He married Juanita Johnson on October 22, 1945 in Livingston and they raised their two children Cathy and James in Bozeman. Neal worked for the Gallatin County Road Department for 30 years. He was an amateur photographer and enjoyed photography. Neal’s home was at the base of Pete’s Hill and it gave Neal the opportunity to be a friend to the many people and pets passing by.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Juanita, and all his siblings.
Survivors include his daughter Cathy (Michael) DuBois of Boulder, MT; son James Ross of Marion, IA; grandchildren Todd (Lily) DuBois of Chula Vista, CA and Heather (David) Nickovich of East Helena, MT; four great granddaughters; three great great granddaughters and special friend Margaret Kinsey.
Private services will be held.
