Naya Sage Reed

On June 30, 2014 our hearts were broken when we lost our little Naya bug. It’s a deep sudden loss because she impacted so many, even if she had met them but briefly. The interest she showed in others around her, her ability to go around a room and talk to whomever, laugh with any, and make an insecure or shy person feel of value, showed her depth, and in a way only a tender little girl could. Naya would really meditate on a person, and talk about what it was she thought she could do for them that was special, and then always acted without hesitation to be kind. She formed personal friendships and bonds with all personality types and age groups. There is no end to the amount of cards, paintings, gifts, she has created for the ones around her, with each one uniquely made as she thought of how to make it personal to them. Naya could not contain herself when it came to expressing that she loved you; when she walked into a room, you knew a hug was coming, and that she would keep holding on until she knew you were filled up with her love. This and her freckled cheeks, expressive eyes, and button nose is what made her such a beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, and friend. She was on her way to starting her 5th grade year at Emily Dickenson Elementary school which she has adored and attended since Kindergarten. She shared her affection with so many, but poured herself out every day to her brother Levi Reed age 8, her father Zebulun Reed, and mother Kelly Reed. We watched with gleaming eyes to see her transforming into a lovely lady, while maintaining her true Montana outdoor spirit. Naya had longed, and often talked about goals she set for herself that would last until eternity: To play the cello, become a chef, learn French and Spanish, travel to distant parts of the world, and to bravely serve her God Jehovah. Naya believed in the promise of a paradise on earth, “for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life.” (John 5:28, 29) We are rocked with pain that we won’t have our daily lessons in love that Naya Sage, our munchkin taught us. But we are comforted in the hope that we will see her again, running, laughing, and reaching her goals in the future promised to us all. A memorial fund has been set up for Naya at Big Sky Western Bank for all who would like to help the family. Memorial services will be held on Sunday July 13 at 5:00 PM at Lindley Park.
