Mickael “Mike” Flaa, 70, passed away December 20, 2023, in Cameron, MT. Mike was born December 22, 1952, in Port Townsend, WA, to Ivar Flaa and Sonia (Myklebust) Green. He was raised in Edmonds, WA and graduated from Woodway High School in June 1971. While attending Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA, where Mike received a BA in Accounting and Business Administration, he met his wife of 51 years, Gisela. They were married on September 8, 1972, in Lacy, WA.
Mike was a CPA, 20-year partner with KPMG, Turnaround Specialist, and Serial Entrepreneur. As a turnaround specialist, serial entrepreneur, and investor, Mike’s experience provided him the opportunity to work in a variety of industries, including oil and gas, gaming, mining, government service contracting, real estate, engineering, medical, biotech, and technology, as well as sit on the Board of Directors for multiple companies within the aforementioned.
Mike was a founding member of various start-up companies, an Eagle Scout and served on several philanthropic boards to include Boys & Girls Clubs. He was an avid outdoorsman, particularly fishing for salmon, trout, and steelhead. He also enjoyed hunting, skiing, and golfing.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Ivar Flaa and brother, Gary Flaa. He is survived by his mother, Sonia Green; wife, Gisela; son Corey; daughter-in-law Noelle; and granddaughters, Olivia and Willow.
