Michael Durant, Jr.

d. April 14, 2024

Micheal “Mike D” David Durant was born on July 16, 1990, in Loveland, Colorado. He passed away in Bozeman, MT, on April 14, 2024. He was 33 years old.

Michael was the type of person that could light up a room with his amazing smile and kind eyes. His sense of humor and his laugh could do nothing but make you laugh with him.  He was kind hearted, compassionate, and always had a great sense of duty to anything he took on, whether that was work, play, or just entertaining himself.  He really enjoyed both of the main jobs that he held here; Gibson Guitar, which allowed him to use his musical knowledge and incorporate it with his work, and he truly loved Earth Elements, using his hands to create what he called a “masterpiece of stone art” that would go into someone’s home for a lifetime. He worked hard and played just as hard. His passions included anything with music and his music studio was especially close to his heart.  He created the character Krayrei, which would take you on a magical journey to areas that have never been explored.  His imagination was exceptional, and his original music was proof of his musical talents and his love for writing.  He also enjoyed the breeze blowing through his long flowing hair and his epic beard while he was either cruising his Harley Davidson through the city of Bozeman and the surrounding valley, or on the highways and byways of Montana’s scenic beauty. Michael will truly be missed by his family and friends.

Mike is survived by his parents, Mike (Judy) Durant, and Holly (Gary) Daniels; sisters. Autumn Daniels, Mikela Durant, Celestial and Stormie Ehret; grandparents, Barbara Harris, David and Charlene Durant Terrie Helgerson; uncles, Tim Durant, Daniel Tucker Tyler (Rachel) and Ryan (Jolene) Helgerson; aunts, Becci Wallace, D.J. Grice; cousins, Chelsie (Joseph) Wallace and Lily Castillo, Samantha (Paul) Novanty, Seth Helgerson; and numerous second cousins, too many to list; as well as all of his friends that loved him dearly.

The Celebration of Mike’s Life will take place Friday, April 19, 2024, 4:00 p.m., also at Dahl’s. “Broken Chain” – We little knew that day, God was going to call your name. In life, we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you. But you did not go alone. For a piece of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide.  And although we cannot see you, you are always by our side.  Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the Chain will link again. ~Ron Tranmer.
