Michael Shayne of Bozeman, Montana passed away on Friday, August 28. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 15, 1950 to Charles and Rose (Kaye) Shayne.
Michael earned his Bachelors Degree in Anthropology at Northern Illinois University, and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts at Montana State University. Before his accident he worked in Bozeman for over thirty years as both a farrier and a ceramics artist.
In addition to pottery, Michael enjoyed team roping, horses, wrought iron work, drawing, and liked to dance. He will be remembered as possessing a sweet heart under a rough exterior.
Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and one sister.
He is survived by his sisters Ava and Cynthia, and his nephews Alex and Luke, all from the Chicago area.
A memorial service and scattering of Michael’s ashes will take place at his home at 640 W. Hulbert in Bozeman on Tuesday, September 1st at 4:00 PM.
