Michael Dannels

Michael Albin Dannels, 33, of Bozeman, passed away August 28, 2011 from natural causes; he was born September 2, 1977 in Thornton, CO to Michael and Chari (Mierkey) Dannels. He was raised in Colorado and graduated from High Plains High School in 1996. After graduation he worked in the construction industry in Colorado and Montana. During his life he lived in Thornton, CO, Darby, MT and Bozeman, MT. Michael loved the outdoors, especially fishing, some of his favorite places were the Gallatin, West Fork of the Bitterroot, Hughes Creek and of course the last place he went fishing. Those close to Michael knew him to be a gentle, kind soul; he was one of those Angels on earth dressed like ordinary mortals. A spiritual man, he lived his life for others, often to his detriment, giving to others and keeping little for himself. Michael knew how to love unconditionally, expressing this understanding in his compassionate counseling and support for his friends and strangers. This gentle giant#8217;s passing has left a big hole in the hearts of those who held him dear that will be hard to fill. Survivors include his parents Chari and John Bockelmann of Darby, MT, Michael and Paula Dannels of Lakewood, CO; sister Nikki Gooden; niece and nephew Shannan and Matthew all of Thornton, CO; sister Jacqueline (Kenneth) Hill; nephews Jared Britton and Teagan all of Brighton, CO; brother Steven (Tara) Bockelmann of Comanche, IA; maternal grandparents Vern and Lillian Mierkey of Auburn, CA; paternal grandmother Shirley Giese of Denver, CO; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
