Merlie 'Mel' Heim

Merlie “Mel” Heim, 74, of Bozeman, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012. She was born April 11, 1937 in Nashua, MT to William and Annabelle Clara Robinson. She was raised and educated in Glasgow. Mel and Jack Hartry were united in marriage in 1954; they had two children John and Laura, the couple later divorced. Mel married Richard R. Heim in 1964 they made their home in Great Falls. Mel loved to dance, sing and yodel, especially singing with her friends at the Music Ranch. Her family remembers enjoying her rhubarb cakes and chokecherry jelly. She loved family get togethers her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her sweet smile, her sense of humor (Mel Jokes) and her devotion to her grandchildren. Mel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Richard; brothers Murray, Clayton, Warren, Ralph and Floyd; sisters Violet, Ruby and Blanche. Survivors include her son John, daughter and son in law Laura and Rob Hager of Bozeman; grandchildren James R. (Sheri) Schuman of Arlington, WA, Skyler Hager, Amy Hager both of Bozeman, Tana J. Hager of Austin, TX; Rob R. (Julie) of Belgrade, Diesta ( Kelly) Johnson of Clyde Park; great grandchildren Darrel, Tyler, Heidi Sue, Cody, Taylor and Kayla; brother William ( Paulette) Robinson of Bozeman, sister Jeannette “Dotty” (Joe) Zinner of Belgrade. A celebration of Mel’s life will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, April 13, 2012 at Dahl Funeral Chapel.
