Maxine P. Glueckert

Maxine P. Glueckert went home to heaven on May 2, 2017.



Maxine was born in Belt, Montana on October 8, 1928 with a deep connection and relationship to her Brodie, Sweeney and Pimperton family. Growing up in the Great Falls area, Maxine and her brother David were raised by their mother Ruth, Grandpa Brodie, and extended family. The loss of her father in 1932 gave Maxine the inspiration to be independent.



Maxine graduated from St. Mary's High School in Great Falls with the class of 1946. She attended college at Mary Crest College (Davenport IA), Montana State University, and Great Falls College of Education. Following her graduation, she taught school in the Stockett-Sand Coulee area before returning to Great Falls where she met her husband, Charles Joseph Glueckert, in June of 1949.



The following year they were married on February 18, 1950. Max was the nickname that Chuck gave her and the endearment was to become the joyful expression of her four kids. Her family, as well as the dinners she lovingly prepared, grew to include her 3 sons and 1 daughter: Joe (Renee) and two children (Michael and Raelene), Rita (Raymond Reichman) and three children (Brandie, Brent and Andrea,) Raymond (Laura) and two children (Nolan and Colleen,) and Timothy (Judy) and two children (Kay and Sara). Maxine and her family spent many days enjoying the beauty of the seasons at their cabin near Bridger Bowl. Fourth of July picnics, snowmobiling and experiencing the fall colors were some of her favorite activities.



Maxine worked at Empire Federal Savings and Loan in Livingston for 26 years, retiring in 1994. She always greeted clientele with a smiling face and an eagerness to help.



She is preceded in death by her husband Chuck, father Raymond, mother Ruth, and brother David and his wife Pat. Survivors include her four children and their families, as well as many living cousins, nieces and nephews.



Recalling Maxine as a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she will always be remembered for being the center of laughter, meals and cards. She was the center of fun and Maxine's greatest joy was her family - with many and more photos and genealogy.



A Vigil will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 7 at the River Church. A Funeral Mass is to follow 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 8 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Belgrade, MT.
