Mary Louise #8220;Lou#8221; Houser, 71, of Bozeman, passed away November 27, 2009 at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. She was born November 25, 1938 in Butte, Montana to William David and Mary Jane (Carlson) Crowley. She was raised on a ranch near the Madison River with her parents and three siblings. She went to school in Three Forks and then went to college to become a nurse. While in college, she met and married her first husband, they had 4 boys together, they later divorced. While working as a nurse at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, she met and married a wonderful man who was a great husband, father and mentor, the love of her life Steve Houser, they were married April 13, 1972 in West Yellowstone, MT. We feel blessed with her strength, wisdom and most of all her loving smile. Lou enjoyed bowling, camping, bridge, knitting and taking pictures. She was preceded in death by 3 sons Tony, Mike and Joel, and father William. Survivors include her husband Steve of Bozeman, her son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Patty Howard of Belgrade; daughter-in-laws Kay Howard of Helena, MT and Jenny Howard of Hamilton, MT; grandchildren Brittni Howard, Krista Howard, Siena Howard, Phoebe Howard, Stephanie Howard, Nicholas Howard; great grandchild Kareena Howard Hancock; her mother Mary Crowley of Soquel, CA; her siblings Virginia (Ken) Sullivan of Soquel, CA, Bill (Ellen) Crowley of Vancouver, WA, Carol (Gus) Wanner of Knoxville, TN ; and special relative Kay Nokes of Bend, OR. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 1:30 at Dahl Funeral Chapel Memorials may be made in her name to Gallatin Valley Food Bank, 602 Bond, Bozeman, MT 59715.
