Mary Anne Hardies

Mary Anne Hardies, 92, of Bozeman, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016. Mary was born April 9, 1923 to Louis and Mary A. (Popish) Vidic in Butte, MT. She graduated from Butte High School. She moved to Seattle, WA following graduation and worked for the War Department during WWII.

She married Arthur J. Hardies in 1949 in Seattle, WA. They eventually moved to Butte and then to Sheridan, MT. Mary worked for Chas. Walter IGA in Sheridan for 25 years, retiring in 1988. She traveled to Alaska, floated the Grand Canyon, explored New York City and visited England and Paris.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Diane and brother Ray Vidic. She is survived by her brother Louis Vidic of Helena; daughters and son-in-laws Janet and Don Baum of Billings, MT, Lou Ann and Russ McKenna of Bozeman, MT; grandsons Craig and Jason Baum of Billings; granddaughters Stephanie Clapper of Bozeman and Courtney Sand of Brier, WA, great-grandsons Josh and Colton Baum of Billings, Marcus and Alex Clapper of Bozeman and an unborn great-grandchild due in August of 2016 in Brier, WA.
