Marvin Labert, 83, of Bozeman passed away at home on Friday, September 23, 2011. Marvin was born May 1, 1928 in Dundee, MI to Joseph and Marian (Cilley) Labert. He was raised on a dairy farm and was educated in Dundee. Marvin was united in marriage to Virginia Duval on February 3, 1951 in Deerfield, Michigan. The couple made their home in Deerfield for two years, then 5 more years farming in Dundee, followed by twenty three years in Blissfield, Michigan before settling in Bozeman in 1986. Together they raised five children. Marvin was a farmer in Michigan, an also a truck driver until his retirement in 1984. Marvin loved fishing and hunting and was lured to Montana by his sons. Marvin was a member of Resurrection Catholic Parish. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his sons Richard and Patrick, brother Edwyn Labert. Survivors include his three children: Thomas (Terri) Labert of Bozeman, Linda (Terry) Etter of Adrian, Michigan and Robert Labert of Billings; seventeen grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brothers Joseph (Lola) Labert of Dundee, MI, Elwyn (Betty) Labert of Dundee, MI, and John (Bernice) Labert of Wideman AR; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held in Deerfield, MI at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Montana, c/o the Bozeman Deaconess Foundation.
