Martha Goldie Baker, 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Big Sky Medical Center in Big Sky Montana.
Martha was born September 8, 1947, in Nuremberg, Germany, to Edgar Robert Baker Sr. and Marjorie Estelle Vaughan who both preceeded her in death.
She was an accomplished musician who played the flute, piccolo, and piano. She graduated from Weatherford Texas High School where she was a member of the band and sang in the college choir at Weatherford College.
Martha’s calling in life was to be a homemaker. She loved to bake. If you were lucky enough to get one of her rum cakes, she thought very highly of you. She loved to knit. She made over 900 hats which she donated to the Cancer Center. She loved music, puzzle books, and playing on her iPad.
She lived a full life enjoying simple pleasures such as her Mocha coffee and iced Coke. She had a childlike excitement for new adventures. Martha was bubbly and spread joy wherever she went.
Martha is survived by the love of her life Dan Smith. Martha’s world revolved around Dan and their life in West Yellowstone, Montana. She is also survived by her four children; Angela (Bill) Weddington, Chris ( Ann Cobain) Olson, Nick ( Anecia) Olson, and Kimberly Smart. Martha left behind thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters, three brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
