Martha Ann “DeDe” Christman nee DeBoer, age 78, passed away Saturday, October 8 after a courageous fight with cancer. Formerly a resident of Grosse Pointe, Michigan and Highland Park, Illinois, DeDe was a dedicated school speech therapist known for her compassion for her
students. She was an avid tennis player, winning tournaments in both tennis and platform tennis. During this time, she began what would be a lifelong passion for ceramic arts.
After retiring in Bozeman, Montana, her creativity flourished. A longtime member of the Emerson’s Artist’s Gallery, her works were exhibited and collected internationally. She also enjoyed regular fly fishing trips, traveling to exotic locales, and horseback riding.
She will be remembered for her steadfast embracement of life, and greatly missed by her husband, Gerald Christman; son and daughter Eric (Kate) Christman, Sara (Jeffrey) Havel; grandchildren Anna, Caroline,Teagan and Cole; brother William DeBoer, and many loving friends.
