Martha (Marty) Jean Wood, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024, and ran into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Known affectionately as the neighborhood grandmother, she had a special bond with many local children, never missing a birthday or milestone in their lives. A talented musician, Marty shared her love for music as a teacher, often reminiscing about her days playing the violin and piano and singing for audiences.

For over a decade, she bravely battled cancer, inspiring those around her with her resilience and determination. Marty was a familiar face at her favorite stores, where she valued every interaction, often sparking meaningful conversations and surprising her newfound friends with thoughtful treats, cards or simply remembering their circumstances. Her warmth and kindness touched many lives, leaving a lasting legacy of Jesus’ love.
