Marjorie Stucky Vincent

Marjorie Stucky Vincent went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 17, 2008. Marge was born December 11, 1920 to Emmett and Matilda Stucky in Bozeman, Montana on the original Stucky homestead. Marge was a life long resident of Bozeman and as she put it #8220;God#8217;s Country#8221;. Marge graduated from Gallatin County High School in 1937. One of her first jobs was working as a waitress at the then famous Bill#8217;s Grill and later at Montgomery Ward. Marge married Tom E. Vincent, June 24, 1944 and had two daughters, Vickie and Deborah. In 1948, Marge and Tom purchased a small acreage at the base of Cottonwood Canyon. They moved onto the place in June and in August the well ran dry #8211; this was the beginning of many improvements that they worked on side-by-side including the building of their home where she lived for the rest of her life. Over the years they were able to purchase more acreage that allowed them to increase their herd of Angus cattle and provided the room for Mom#8217;s beloved horses. She also enjoyed working in the hay and wheat fields as Tom#8217;s number one #8220;hired man#8221;. Marge worked 30 years at Montana State University for the Extension Service in the State 4-H Office. At the 4-H Office, not only was she a very efficient secretary, but she also provided the International Farm Youth Exchange students with helpful advice and was a reassuring presence during their attendance at the University. She also enjoyed chaperoning the Montana Delegates of the National 4-H Congress held in Washington, D.C. When the 4-H Horse Training Project was being developed, she was one of the original committee members; her practical experience, insight, and love of horses were valued as she worked with the well-respected horse trainer, Bob Miller, local 4-H leaders, and the Extension Agents. Marge continued to enjoy riding horses throughout her life and could be seen on horseback while into her 70#8217;s. After retiring from the Extension Service in 1974, Marge and Tom enjoyed working together on their small ranch and traveling in their motor home across the United States and Mexico visiting family and relatives. Marge was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom; her three brothers, Emmett, Glenn, and Bill, and stepbrother Bill Johnson. She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-laws; Vickie and Fred Mikat, Deborah and Jack Cowlishaw; seven grandchildren: Maede (Lance) Miller, Kelle (Dana) Kuglin, Scott (Krissanne) Cattrell, Vincent, Leigh, Megan Jessica Cowlishaw; five great grand children: Christian, Tyler, Haley, Ethan and Cade. Memorials may be sent to Heifer International, 1 World Ave, Little Rock, AR 72202 A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 21, 2008 at Dahl Funeral Chapel.
