Marian Sheehan, 81, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 with Ed holding her hand. She was a resident of Mountain View Care Center for almost five years. She was born on February 26, 1932, to Doris (Strate) and Henry Eastman at Cardston, Alberta, Canada. Growing up in Canada, Marian moved around Alberta with her parents and older brother because her father was a grain buyer for Alberta Wheatpool and moved to many different communities. When they arrived in Creston, B.C., Marian's mother Doris said that they would like to stay and they did. Marian's father was the manager of the Wheatpool elevator in Creston. Marian went to Elementary School in Creston and graduated from Creston Valley High School in 1950. She worked for the local Coop for one year and then she went to Spokane to get into the nursing school at Sacred Heart School of Nursing. She graduated from Sacred Heart in 1954 with a degree as a Registered Nurse. She then entered Gonzaga University and obtained her Bachelor degree in Nursing Education in 1956. After graduation she was employed by Sacred Heart as an instructor and worked there for 3 or 4 years. At this time she met a young man from Butte, Montana on a blind date, the person that she married at a later date. Marian moved to Missoula, Montana and worked as an instructor at St. Patrick's School of Nursing. At both schools Marian taught Obstetrics. On April 20, 1963, Marian was married to Edward 'Ike' Sheehan at St. Anthony's Church in Missoula by Ed's first cousin Bill Stanaway. Marian worked as a nurse at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital part time until our first baby was born and after that we had two more boys. Marian sold Avon for 25 years and met a lot of friends on the way, she enjoyed the work. We did some travelling, going to Texas, Florida, Boston, and a great trip to Ireland. Marian was a volunteer at Eagle Mount for many years with the children in the swimming program. Marian and Ed belonged to the formal dance club for many years and enjoyed bridge and pinochle parties. She had been a parishioner at Resurrection Parish in Bozeman. Marian is survived by her husband Ed 'Ike', with whom she just shared her 50th Anniversary. We have three sons; Ed, in Denver, Dan, in Seattle, and John (Jane) in Blair, Nebraska.
