Marian E. Hollenback, 81, of Bozeman, passed away September 11, 2010 with her family by her side. She was born June 25, 1929 in Salesville (now Gallatin Gateway) . She attended grade school in Bozeman and she graduated from Belgrade High School. Marian was working as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell in Belgrade when she met Frank Hollenback, a technician working on telephone equipment. They married July 29, 1950, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Together they raised their four daughters, Frankie, Kathy, Connie, and Julie. Marian was primarily a homemaker until her girls were raised. She then worked with Margaret Brown, the superintendent of schools. She also worked for The College National Finals Rodeo. She served on the Board of Directors for Campfire Girls and as a Chairperson for The American Red Cross. Additionally, she volunteered for the Boys and Girls Club, the Gallatin County Historical Museum, and 4-H. Marian was a fantastic seamstress who taught her daughters to sew. They went on to win many sewing awards through 4 #8211; H. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers John and Forrest, and her sister Jean Smith. She also lost one of her best friends, Margaret Walton, in June 2009. Survivors include her husband, Frank and four daughters, Frankie Blank of Billings, MT, Kathy (David) Hollenback of Bozeman; Connie (Pat) Moore of Shelby, MT, and Julia Nance of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by grandchildren Kristyn, Matt, Angela, Alicia, Jacquelyn, Holly, Marlesa, and Bryan, as well as great-grandchildren Tristan, Colter, Abigail, Sammy, and Sophie. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Carol Davis of Belgrade, many nieces and nephews, and countless special friends, including Pat Booth. Additionally, Michael and Jean Bucher provided recent and special support. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice c/o Bozeman Deaconess Foundation.
