Margory Mcdonald

Margory May Armstrong McDonald was born on September 5, 1921 in Glasgow, Montana #8211; the seventh child of Andrew and Hazel Armstrong. She died on Friday morning, May 6, 2011, in Bozeman, Montana, surrounded by the love of her family. Marge grew up on a farm in northeastern Montana with four brothers and four sisters and graduated from Fort Peck High School. She entered the service in 1943 at the age of 22 and served until her discharge in November, 1945. She was stationed in the Pacific Theater and received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, WAAC Ribbon, and the World War II Victory Medal. Following her service to our country, Marge embarked on what would be a 40 year career with Exxon, working in the area of marketing, accounting and statistics. Marge was an avid reader, a gifted handcrafter, and loved wildlife and nature, but she was happiest when she was with her family. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, four brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law. She is survived by her brother Bert Armstrong (Florence) of Boise, Idaho, her sister Helen Turnquist of Bozeman, her brother Bill Armstrong of Coeur d#8217;Alene, Idaho, and her sister-in-law Florence Gamas Armstrong of Kalispell, Montana. Marge was the beloved aunt to 22 nieces and nephews, their spouses, children and grandchildren #8211; including Karen Hall of Bozeman, John Turnquist of Magnolia, Texas and Mary Helen Mitchell (also Marge#8217;s godchild) of Austin, Texas. Marge#8217;s family celebrates with joy and thanksgiving her life well lived and her race well run. Her service will be on Monday, May 9, at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Following the burial, the family invites you to join us for a reception honoring Marge#8217;s life at the home of Helen Turnquist and Karen Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marge McDonald Perennial Garden in Island Park, Idaho. Checks may be mailed to Karen Hall.
