Louise Faye Kary passed away June 28, 2012. She was born June 26, 1921 in Timmer, North Dakota to Joseph and Dorothy (Nelson) Huncovsky. Louise attended elementary school in Timmer, ND and went to high school in Frida, ND and graduated from Mandan High School. Louise received a teaching certificate and taught for the Oak Coulee and Manning School Districts in North Dakota. She later worked as a Clerk at Scott’s Dime Store in Bismarck, ND. She moved to California during WWII where she worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company. Louise married Matt Kary in Billings, MT in December, 1943. The couple had two daughters, Marcia and Vicki, and later divorced. After WWII, Louise returned to North Dakota and lived in Dickinson, Flasher, Mandan, and Bismarck. She started working for JC Penny in Mandan in 1957 then for MDU until she retired in 1984. Louise met her longtime partner Robert Procive in May, 1964 and together they bought a farm near Flasher, ND. Robert passed away in 1986 and she sold the farm. Louise was a devout Christian and loved to sing and dance. She was a very independent and intelligent woman. She looked for the good in everyone and was fun-loving until the end, she moved to Bozeman in 2005 and traveled to Victoria, British Columbia, Yellowstone National Park. She attended her great granddaughter’s wedding in Calgary, Canada in March of 2012. Louise was preceded in death by: her parents & her sister Velma. She is survived by: her daughters Marcia and Vicki; 5 grandchildren, Andrea, Tonya, Kristen, Valerie and Wade; and 9 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Paul, Warren and Cecil and one sister Twila. A graveside service will be held at the Mandan, ND cemetery. In memory of Mom please put flowers on your table, say a prayer and celebrate her life.
