Louis Philip Maspero passed away at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, July 23, 2008. Lou lived in Bozeman with his daughter, son-in-law and two great-granddaughters. At 97, he still had a great sense of humor. He lived his first 93 years in southern California. During the Depression, he worked hard each summer to help his family. As a young man, he worked for the C.C.C. and later, for Douglas Aircraft as a first-class aircraft machinist. After the war, he started his own business making wood screens for windows and doors. He then became a real estate broker and retired at the age of 49 to play golf. Lou is survived by three children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held in California. Memorials in Lou#8217;s name may be made to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank, 602 Bond St, Bozeman, MT 59715. Lou was always one to help when he could.
