Lorna Keene

October 27, 1945 — May 19, 2009

Lorna Keene, 63, of Bozeman passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2009. Lorna was born on October 27, 1945 to Thomas and Norma Wallace. She grew up in Lynnwood, California, where she graduated from high school. After graduation, she attended Junior College in the Lynnwood area. While still living in Lynnwood, she married Art Keene, and together they had three sons, Raymond, Kelvin, and Jason. The couple was later divorced. The family spent their first few years in Coronado, California, moving to Bozeman in 1967. Lorna worked at local hotels as a desk clerk. Lorna was always very active in the lives of her family. When her boys were young, she would attend all of their sporting events. She was also active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed teaching the Sunbeam class of 3-year-olds at church. Lorna loved chickens, and she collected all kinds of chicken memorabilia. When her friends would return from their missions, they would bring her back chicken memorabilia from around the world. She also loved greeting cards and worked for Hallmark stocking cards in various stores. If there was a holiday, you could expect a card from Lorna. Lorna suffered a stroke, but after some adaptation, she continued to get around on her own. She showed her determination and independence and many people will remember Lorna #8220;walking#8221; around Bozeman in her electric wheelchair. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Judy. Lorna is survived by her three sons, Raymond (Janna) Keene of Lake Havasu, AZ, Kelvin (Lisa) Keene of Layton, UT, and Jason (Sherry) Keene of Phoenix, AZ; twelve grandchildren, Raymond Jr., Michael, Richard, Joseph, Tiah, Alexander, Michael David, Maxwell, Cody, Delilah, and step-granddaughters, Melody and Amber; and brother, Stanley (Pat) Wallace of WV. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the Relief Society Room at the LDS Stake Center, 2915 Colter Ave. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the Stake Center, with interment to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Donations to the Lorna Keene Memorial Fund to defray funeral costs can be made at any First Interstate Bank Branch.
