Levin Reed Baumann

May 11, 1989 — September 9, 2018

Levin Reed Baumann, age 29, left us on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Canyon Ferry, a placed he loved. His beautiful wild heart, wit and zest for life will be missed by all who knew him. He was a son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandson and treasured friend to so many. His presence in all of our lives is irreplaceable. He loved us all and never hesitated to say so. His sudden absence leaves a large void in our lives.

As a Bozeman native, Levin was born on May 11, 1989 and instantly loved adventure and many of the high-octane sports that come with the outdoors. As early as age 4, Levin took to motorcross racing and carried that passion into his twenties. Although he was humble about his riding abilities, Levin had a reputation for his solid technique and skills on the track. In addition to dirt-bike riding, Levin enjoyed snowmobiling, snowboarding and anything to do with the lake. Canyon Ferry was Levin’s happy place.

Levin proudly served in the United States Marines for three years after high school then went on to persue his talents and creativity in metal fabrication. Levin worked beside his father at Big Sky Metal Art learning the craft of welding and design. With his favorite tunes in his ear buds, Levin created outstanding pieces which can be seen around Bozeman and Big Sky as well as in many homes.

Levin’s main source of inspiration in life was his strong faith in God. This faith was best expressed with his compassion towards everyone in his life. Levin was always concerned with the well-being of others. His amazing intuitiveness about life and learning was guided by Levin’s faith in Christianity. In parting, Levin would want to leave you with a smile on your face, calmness in your heart, and trust in the Lord.

Levin’s parents Rich (Karie) Baumann, Julie Lee (Ron Weber), sister Haley (Jason) Hensley, nephews Wyatt and Cash, Grandparents Babe Fraley, Al Lee, Joan Wheeler Baumann, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins… are grateful for the time they had with him, although it was tragically too short.

A celebration of Levin’s life will be held on October 1, 2018 at 4:00 pm at The Commons in the Journey Church. It will be a casual affair and feel free to share your favorite story or memory of Levin. Memorials may be made in his name to the Gallatin Valley YMCA.
