Kristie Lucille Kountz was born June 7, 1944, to Frank and Lucille Culp. She spent her early childhood in White Sulfur Springs, MT until her family moved to Bozeman, when she was in middle school, to open and run The Rambler Motel. She spent a lot of her free time playing outside with the neighborhood kids and swimming in the motel pool. She loved taking trips down to California in the winter to see her Grandmother and Aunt and to get out of the cold! She enjoyed working in the family garden and being a
part of 4-H. She was crowned homecoming queen and prom queen while she was in high school at Bozeman High. During her senior year, she met her husband, Dick Kountz, after a basketball tournament that she attended in Billings, MT. She quickly fell in love with him, and they were married in 1964. They enjoyed a life of farming, raising a family, running multiple businesses, attending rodeos, camping, boating, fishing, floating the river, traveling, and making lasting memories.
Kris was deeply loved and enjoyed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her and spending time with her! She was a selfless person with a huge heart! She was always up for having a good time! She had a great sense of humor and was cherished for her spunky, fun personality! She enjoyed being around friends and family while soaking up the sun next to her pool in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She loved to watch her grandbabies, cook delicious meals, play cards and poker, spend time with her beloved dogs and enjoy a nice, cold, beer!
Kristie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lucille Culp; her husband, Frank Richard "Dick" Kountz and her eldest son, Robbie Frank Kountz.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Kountz Ramsey and her spouse Mike; her son, Shane Kountz and his long-time girlfriend Ann Martin; her grandchildren, Zach and Megan VanAusdol, Brooke and Forrest McCarthy, Frankie Kountz, Annie Kountz; her great grandchildren, Adaleigh, Zaden, Remmington, Hudson and Reine; her sister, Mary Duval and her two children, Travis Duval and Mindy Evans, and their children, Carson, Garrett, Lindsay, Lucy and Charlie.
