Kenneth Floyd Fare, 85, of Belgrade MT passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014. He was born December 20, 1928 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Orville Beaner and Pearl Monteith. He moved to Kirby, WY with his mother. Shortly thereafter she married his stepfather, Walt H. Fare. At a very early age, he worked with his stepfather in the nearby coal mine and tended the family farm all while helping raise his four younger siblings. In his teens he enlisted in the Wyoming National Guard, serving until 1951 when he was honorably discharged. He married Sharon Joyce Holdeman on October 9, 1958 in Casper, Wyoming. Kenny worked as a heavy equipment operator building roads all over the state until he moved to Gillette in 1983. There he worked as a mechanic for Farmers Co-Op until he retired in 1995. In January, 2014 he moved to Belgrade, MT to be with his eldest grandson and his family until the time of his death. Kenny enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, four wheeling, boating, and snowmobiling. He loved to spend time with his two grandchildren Kelly and Nicholas Ernest. He had many friends, young and old who would stop by for a visit and a cold one. If the weather was good, the garage door was open at “Papa’s Place”. He will forever be remembered as selfless, kind, appreciative, and helpful. He had a laugh you could hear from blocks away. He was preceded in death by his parents and step father, Brother Howard Fare, Sister Marylou Ella Fare, and numerous fishing buddies. He is survived by his wife, daughters Sharon Richter of Douglas, WY and Suzie Hirsch of Boulder, CO; sisters Betty Suthor of Wamego, KS and Vesta Edward of Kirby, WY, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. At Kenny’s request no services will be held. His ashes will be spread in Wyoming by family.
