Kathleen #8220;Kay#8221; Milligan, 83, of Bozeman passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at her home. Kay was born on September 22, 1926 in Duluth, Minnesota to Michael and Regina Cunningham. She was the youngest and had four older brothers to look after her. She and her brother, Dan, loved to explore the fields and woods around Woodland with their dog, Pal. She attended St. John#8217;s, a cozy little four room school, from grades one through eight. At the age of 16, the family moved to Torrence, California, where Michael could work for the World War II effort. Kay graduated from Torrance High School. On June 6, 1946, Kay was introduced to Donald Milligan and the two were married on April 16, 1947 in Torrance. They had three children, Patty, Michol, and James and the family lived in Bellflower, California and Downey, California before Kay and Don retired to Bozeman, where they had lived together for 13 years before Don#8217;s death in 2003. She loved golf, and she was a member of Valley View Golf Club. She was also a proud member of Resurrection Parish, P.E.O., and Hibernians. Kay had a great sense of humor, and told great Irish jokes. She was a loving and fun person. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don, her granddaughter, Lisa Milligan, and all four of her brothers. Survivors include her daughters, Patty (Bill) Fraser of Bozeman and Michol (Richard) Rodriguez of Chino Valley, AZ; son, Jim (Janine) Milligan of Chino Hills, CA; grandchildren, LCDR Bill Fraser, Cheri (Fraser) Conner, M.D., Nikki (Rodriguez) Lorton, Stacy Rodriguez, Amanda (Milligan) Zamarron, Jamie (Milligan) Schindler, and Bryan Milligan; and twelve great-grandchildren. A Vigil Service will be held at Resurrection Catholic Parish at 7:30 pm on Monday, August 9, 2010. Funeral Mass will be at Resurrection Catholic Parish at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, with interment to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Resurrection Parish Building Fund, 1725 S 11th Ave, Bozeman, MT 59715 or to Hospice c/o Bozeman Deaconess Foundation, 931 Highland Blvd, Ste. 3200, Bozeman, MT 59715.
