Karen Cave

Karen (Filson) Cave, 67, of Gallatin Gateway, Montana, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 7, 2011. She was surrounded by her loving family. Karen was born on May 3, 1943, in Ely, MN. She married the love of her life, Daniel Cave, on June 28, 1962, and they shared 48 beautiful years together. Karen#8217;s entire life revolved around her family and her love for her heavenly Father. She always put the needs of others before her own, she found great joy in giving, and she never expected anything in return. After moving to Montana in 1998, Karen and her family discovered a passion for hiking and snowshoeing in the mountains and enjoyed the incredible beauty of God#8217;s creation. She loved taking trips, and Yellowstone Park was a frequent destination. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lillian Filson, and a nephew, Ross Filson. She is survived by her husband, Daniel, son Terry (Sheila) Cave, daughters Sheryl (Chris) Nylund, Teresa (Jeff) Sylvester, Patti (Aaron) Linton, and Christine Cave, and twelve grandchildren: Bradley, Gregory, Stephanie, Jared and Brandon Cave; Michael, Krista, Christian and Alyssa Nylund; Jordan and Tyler Sylvester, and Emily Cave. She is also survived by three brothers, Jerry (Esther) Filson, Dale (Donna) Filson, and Marlin Filson. A private family ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 12th to honor and celebrate Karen#8217;s life. The companionship, love, joy, fellowship, generosity, and laughter she brought to her family and friends will be forever treasured and deeply missed.
