Joyce Bryers

Joyce Maggie Louisa Bryers, 86, of Bozeman, MT, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013. She was born January 25, 1926 in Portsmouth, England to Arthur Samuel Shaw and Maggie Louisa (Hayward) Bulstrode. The family immigrated to the US when she was 3 years old, settling on Long Island, NY. Her mother passed away when she was just 5 years old. Joyce was raised and educated in Queens, NY and graduated from Jamaica High School. She worked for the government as a secretary, the Red Cross and also a sales person for a department store. She married Billy Eugene Green in 1946 and to that union they had 6 children, Jeffrey, Howard, Billy, Leslie, Lizabeth and Joy. They lived in New York, Colorado Springs and West Yellowstone, MT. The couple later divorced. She married Herbert Bryers on June 28, 1978 and they moved to Bozeman in 1980. She enjoyed handicrafts and knitting and crocheting. Her greatest joy was her family and her church. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herbert, brothers Stanley and Ronald Bulstrode, sisters Eve Adler and Ruby Whalen. Survivors include her sister Pearl Pringle of Iowa, brother Edwin Bulstrode of Cheyenne, WY, brother Daniel Bulstrode of Arizona, sons Jeffrey (Lisa) Green of Ft Collins, CO, Howard (Kim) Green of Gallatin, MO, Billy (Pam) Green of Heber City, UT, Leslie (Ciretta) Green of Bozeman, MT; and daughters Lizabeth (Michael) Bryers of West Yellowstone, MT and Joyce Green of Idaho Falls, ID; 26 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation Saturday, January 12, 2013 starting at 10 am at Dahl Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11 am at Sunset Hills Cemetery on Saturday, January 12. 2013.
