Joy Grosserode

February 3, 1944 — February 23, 2025

Joy Elaine Grosserode (Manzer), 81, passed away on February 23, 2025, peacefully at her home in Manhattan, Montana.

Born on February 3, 1944, in McLean, Nebraska to Kenneth & Minnie Manzer, Joy dedicated her life to caring for others and embracing the beauty of the world around her. She pursued her education with determination, earning her General Education Degree before continuing at Northeast Community College, where she graduated as valedictorian of her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) class in 1986. Her passion for nursing reflected her deep commitment to helping those in need.

A devoted wife, mother of five children, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Joy found immense joy in nurturing her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. She was known for her love of cooking and took great pleasure in preparing meals for family and friends. Beyond the kitchen, she had a deep appreciation for nature and adventure. Whether fishing by the water's edge, riding horseback through open fields, camping under the stars, or simply taking in the breathtaking mountain scenery; Joy cherished every moment spent outdoors.

Her love for learning and teaching extended beyond formal education-she was an educator for 11 years who shared wisdom and kindness with all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through those she taught, cared for, and loved throughout her 42 year nursing career.

Joy is survived by her husband Phillip (Phil) Grosserode, Sister Arlis White, Daughter Lori (Bach) Montey, Daughter Linda (Bach) & husband Maynard Munderloh, Son David Bach & (Signficant Other) Cheryl Viland, Daughter Kristal (Grosserode) & husband Nehemia Volquardsen, Son Kord & Mary (Dunkel) Grosserode, 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many other nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by Paul Montey, Margaret Bach, Neil Manzer, Minnie Manzer, Eudene Fredrick, and Kenneth Manzer.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
